Reporting - Monthly Category Activity?

Hi,

I've been looking at the current reporting tools that come with CCP, however I am not sure how to (or if it is even possible) product a report for a month showing all activity for certain categories (purchases mainly), and maybe even products within those categories.

I've been playing around with the database search feature under the reports but not been able to get close to what I need.

This is an important aspect of what I am trying to achieve so hope there is a way to do this and appreciate any help you can offer.

Would it require much more work than the original quote to make it viewable by product.

Basically client wants to know how many of each individual product they've sold eg. 20 T-shirts, 10 shorts etc... with a date from - to selector like in the current sales and marketing module.
