SQLite and Mysql wont work

I've tried using both SQLite and Mysql and neither will work during setup. Mysql fails to login and basically gets an access denied message. SQLite installs to around 70% then I get the following message:
An error was encountered while performing the database load task requested. Error Information: The SQLite extension encountered a problem submitting an SQL statement. SQLite reported the error as: SQL logic error or missing database


Any ideas?
