Adding A secure server

Adding A secure server

Postby Geoff83 » 25 Oct 2010 20:12

Hi,
This is my first time for using Clickcartpro.
I have already installed Clickcartpto on my usual webserver, after installation and configuring the cart I bought a secure server. How do I now change things so I can use the secure server with Clickcartpro? I have tried re-running the installer.php but this gets me nowhere.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Geoff

You need to re-run the installer file and update the secure url paths to reflect the path/url to your secure server (i.e. https://yourdomain, ssl.yoursomain etc.)
Your web host will tell you the url/path to your server area.

Hi,
I have re-run the installer file and pointed it to the secure server, this still results in errors when checking out from the cart. The error is... The requested URL /shop.php was not found on this server. ( I previously changed index.php to shop.php on the server and when I run the installer I point it to that file)
When I re-run the installer, at the end of it I am told... Thank you. The database was fully up to date. No changes were made.
Any suggestions please?

What value did you use for the secure URL when you ran the installer? Does your host have non-secure and secure content in different directories?

If the answer to the 2nd question is yes you need to ask your provider to alias the secure directory to the non-secure directory so the content delivered is exactly the same. The only thing that needs to change is the URL not the actual content being delivered.

Not sure what you mean, originally the entire instalation was on an unsecure server, with a URL of http://www.manze.co.uk/xcs/shop.php

Now I have added a secure server to my package and the secure address is https://manze.ssl-01.com

Should there be any files moved to the secure address?

Your secure URL should be https://manze.ssl-01.com/xcs/ and you most likely need your provider to do the aliasing I mentioned in my previous post.

No, there should be exactly one directory and it should be used by both the non-secure and the secure connections.

Surely the xcs flder that was originally on the unsecure server will need to be put on the secure server for that address to work?

What exactly should I ask my host to alias?

I'm going to try and answer my own question....

Should the alias be between http://www.manze.co.uk/xcs and https://manze.ssl-01.com/xcs ?

That way the xcs folder is mirrored on the secure server?
